In January, we made the decision to transform our environment to better support both children and staff. Our indoor creative area had become quite cluttered, with an overwhelming number of resources, insufficient self-help options, and inadequate storage solutions. It was also used for snack tables and puzzles, turning it into a bit of a dumping ground. We’re excited about these changes!
**What was our aim?**
Our goal was to create a more organised environment filled with resources that encourage children to become curious, imaginative, and to express their creativity independently.
**What did we do?**
We revamped the creative station by swapping it with the book corner, which has really opened up the space. We’ve also decluttered the area, making it more welcoming. The snack tables have been relocated away from the creative station, allowing for better flow and accessibility. We’ve repurposed the white cabinet as a play-dough station, making it freely available for the children to use. The easel is now set up for the children to create on larger paper, which fosters their artistic expression. Additionally, the creative trolley is now organised, enabling children to help themselves to the resources while adults can easily maintain order. The trolley is conveniently placed near the table and floor activities for easy access.
