Our Quality
Pre-school

Our Quality Pre-School lies in the heart of Moseley and provides play based learning to nurture curiosity and imagination, helping all children find their way. Our fully qualified staff have been working together for many years, providing professional and caring support to all children and parents. Each one of our staff members are committed to each child in their care. Our staff are also Paediatric First Aid trained. This encourages a healthy and safe environment to all children.

We welcome all children from the term they turn 2 up to age 5. Our setting is open Monday to Friday, with sessions from 9:00am – 1:00pm. We also offer afternoon sessions on Tuesday and Thursday from 1:00pm – 4:30pm.

Chatterboxes is a small, friendly Preschool in the heart of Moseley. Our provision is open to all children from the ages of 2 up to 5. Our welcoming and inclusive setting gives every child the best start in life.

Our Setting includes a large hall area where our children can participate in lots of indoor activities.

Our outdoor play area gives children the opportunity to do planting, train spotting and play in our mud kitchen.

Our Setting

At Chatterboxes, we have an inclusive setting where children with additional needs are supported. Our small and friendly setting also uses Makaton to help develop communication skills with children by stimulating sounds and words.

A Message From The Manager

I enrolled my eldest son at Chatterboxes in May 2005, he was going to be 3 in June, having looked at different pre-schools and nurseries in Moseley, this was by far my first choice, the care and attention to detail of the staff was the best! I was inspired by the then management team, of Jackie, Diane and Alyson.

In September 2006 I became a Parent Helper when my youngest son joined Chatterboxes. In March 2007 I was employed by St Paul’s Community Development Trust to work at Chatterboxes. In April 2013 I became the Deputy Manager. We sadly lost Diane in October 2013 but her legacy lives on through the work we do at Chatterboxes today. A true professional, Diane was passionate about children; having opportunities to develop their physical skills, being outdoors and supporting children with additional needs.

In April 2016, I was given the opportunity to share my experiences as an Early Years Professional, supporting 5 different staff teams across St Paul’s Community Development Trust. In May 2017 I was promoted to Manager of Early Years Settings at St Paul’s Community Development Trust and oversaw 4 settings (including Chatterboxes Pre-School) and the Early Years team at the Children’s Centre.

As much as I enjoyed working with all the different settings, I missed working with the children, families and staff at Chatterboxes Pre-School. In 2019 I was given the opportunity by St Paul’s to take over Chatterboxes. In September 2019 I was the proud Registered Owner of Chatterboxes Pre-School. My sons are now 19 and 17 years old and both come and help out. We had such a lovely time at Chatterboxes when the boys were younger and I want to give every child the best possible start in life as my boys did.
